Campaign for James Madison University's MBA program, which has a Northern Virginia option for study. My concept was to take the transportation venues used for presentation and play with career momentum and the often slow-moving traffic the viewer may be in when they see the work.

JMU Banner ads
These are a few of the banner ads I have conceived and written for a variety of programs and venues, from the Charlottesville airport to targeted email campaigns.

I researched and created the 'Sorghum blurb' for sauce bottles:

Sweet sorghum was introduced to the American South in the 1850s, where it quickly grew in popularity among farmers looking for local alternatives to the more expensive sugarcane and beet sugar available at the time. Its mellow and unique sweetness as well as its hearty growth in hot and dry climates made it a longtime staple for subsistence farming communities.

Large-scale commercial sweetener production hurried the decline of sorghum as a food crop, but a resurgence is underway for this distinctive, traditional bit of the American South.

Frontier Culture Museum

Rack Card Text
A State of Virginia 'living museum,' the Frontier Culture Museum gives patrons a chance to tour through a variety of eras and traditions, all carefully recreated on a large campus. For the rack card text, I aimed to capture the full sensory adventure that makes a living museum such a rewarding experience.
The Frontier Culture Museum’s many outdoor exhibits give you a chance to see what daily life was really like for people adapting to the ‘New World.’ See—the various styles of farm buildings, some bought in piece by piece and reassembled here just for you. Hear—the sounds of a working farm before the age of gas powered machines and electricity. Smell—the many earthy odors found in the fields of crops, the home fires and the livestock pens. Feel—the ground beneath your feet, and the rough-hewn fabric of the period correct clothing. Experience—the English, Irish, German and West African cultures as they carve out a place in the fertile soil of Virginia. Be—a part of living history.
